Journal of Gender and Women’s History (formerly: Yearbook of Women’s History) is an annual, peer-reviewed, English-language journal covering the history of gender in its broadest sense. The Yearbook was founded in 1980 on the conviction that women’s history was an understudied area of research. Although the field has grown and developed tremendously in recent decades, gender history all too often remains marginalized within various historical disciplines. The editorial team collaborates with guest editors in order to examine specific historical areas, phenomena, time periods, or subdisciplines, incorporating perspectives and theories from gender history.”
